At this time of year, we all usually reflect on what we’re most thankful for. Cosplay and comic conventions go hand in hand. Every year, the cosplay community gets bigger, broader and crazier. Stan Lee’s Comikaze was no exception. People from all around the world traveled to L.A. to share their love for the art of cosplay. Expressing oneself through costume is no easy task. Weeks, if not months, of work were required to create some of the most awesome costumes you’ll ever see in person. But most people from all walks of life don’t cosplay to create best costume in the room, they cosplay because they’re able to express themselves and feel empowered in a community that holds no judgment. Marvel just wrapped up their #MarvelEvent and announced a whopping 9 movies though 2019! We are incredibly excited for the lineup and can’t wait to soak up all the rumors over the next few years. Deathstroke #1 from DC Comics kicks off a new solo series for “the world’s greatest mercenary” that anyone can jump into without any prior knowledge of continuity. It’s not an origin story, but instead throws readers right into action with Slade Wilson (Deathstroke) narrating along and giving readers a glimpse into his mind. It’s a very action-filled issue with lots of bloody fight scenes, so if you like your action fast paced and gory, give this premiere issue a read. Pick it up at your LCS or at tfaw.com

Thor – the god of thunder, member of the Avengers, son of Odin and prince of Asgard, is deemed unworthy of wielding the mighty hammer Mjolnir. Rising out of the downward spiral of his unworthiness, a new warrior emerges to become worthy of wielding the hammer – and she becomes the new Thor.
So what does this mean for the Thor that we’ve known all our lives? He’s still here, but a mystery woman is taking on the heavy title of Thor in one of the biggest and most controversial changes the Marvel universe has ever seen.
