If you were a kid of the 80’s and 90’s, like me, you were probably familiar with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the X-Men, Captain Planet, and even Darkwing Duck. What do these characters all have in common? Well, hopefully the blog title gave you a hint because they’re all superheroes! Now, superheroes have been around for as long as comics have been in existence but in our society today, superheroes have become so popular that it’s hard not to run into anyone who hasn’t seen one of the Marvel blockbusters or isn’t aware of Christian Bale’s gruff-voiced Batman.

We were lucky enough to talk to Wes Craig, artist of one of our Top Ten comics of the year: Deadly Class. After we got done squealing with the glee of a demon-child, we asked Wes to give us a few quick and dirty answers about how he got his start, and of course – which comics make it into his shortbox.

Deadly Class is Kill Bill meets Dazed and Confused meets Saved By The Bell. Did you hear that? Highly-trained, deadly teens attending an assassin high school get into wacky hi-jinks. But instead of ruining a dance off at The Max… well, you know… what assassins do. With a Remender story and Wes Craig’s beautiful art Deadly Class is one of my favorite titles of the year.
